SMASHBOX CONTOUR STICK TRIO

Contouring. Is it getting old since strobing is the new hype?

I guess it is, yet I still love to contour when I’m putting a full face on now and then. I have to admit that what I’m about to review has been in my make up stash for quite a few months now. Yet I’d still like to share with you the benefits of contouring with cream pencils.

So I went to Douglas a few months ago and saw that Smashbox has this contour kit with three pencils: a highlighter, a bronzer and a contour pencil. Apply the hightlighting pencil on your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and on your brow bone. Below the highlighter you should apply the bronzing pencil and then apply your contour.

Get a damp Beautyblender and dab the product on your skin. Don’t forget to blend ladies! Just so that it all smoothes out nicely and there are no stripes on your face.

I’ve swatched the pencils so you can get an impression of the colors.

What I love about the pencils is that you can’t get too much product on your face like that sometimes happens when you’re using powder. With the powdery formula I tend to use too much product. Then there’s contour all over my face. Especially on the places I don’t want it to be!

You can order the Smashbox kit here.

I’d say, just give it a try and maybe this is the solution when you’re coping with the same problem as I do when using powdered contour.

Have a great day my loves!

MOST WANTED NL SHOPPING NIGHT IN ROTTERDAM

For the first time I decided to participate on this give away for an invitation. What kind of invitation?

The well-known Annic van Wonderen (click) who can be described as a succesful powerwoman who published her own book and has her own business (I Love Fashion News), tweeted about it and I just gave it a try. A few days later I received an e-mail that I was selected and invited on the Most Wanted Shopping Night from the Most Wanted Boutique in Rotterdam at June 26th.

Mostwantednl.nl is a boutique in Rotterdam with the coolest collection. I saw a black chain bag I really wanted to my hands on. I got one!

I’ve also bought a black draped top to wear with my skinny jeans. On this particular shopping night we’d receive a 20% discount on the whole collection. Hairdresser Rob Peetoom was there to style your hair and do your make up.

Annic van Wonderen was there all night to give styling advice to those who needed it. She’s very nice and gave some good tips to the customers who asked.

I really had a great night!

H&M CLUB EXCLUSIVE BEAUTY EVENT

So I was invited for the H&M Club Exclusive Beauty Event on September 10th.

This event was kept in H&M Utrecht, in Hoog Catharijne. I have to be honest, I don’t know what it is but I really love the way the collections are presented in this particular store, there are much more nice items here than in my ‘own’ big H&M in The Hague.

All right, back to the event itself. It started at seven in the evening and ended at nine. I didn’t stay till the end though.

A female DJ kicked off the event at seven. There were a lottttt of people, like 99% women, waiting in line to get in. The first 100 customers would get a goodiebag, I guess that was the main reason it got really crowded.

This was when I was thinking: hmm what was I doing this for again? Still I have no regrets even though I was pushed so hard by the women in the back just because they wanted to get in the store at first (read goodiebag). Oh my god this was the worst part!

Downstairs were some nail artists where you could get your nails done. I had already painted my nails so I skipped this one.

Upstairs was a make up artist to set your make up with the new H&M beauty products. Again, the line was HUGE.

When we went upstairs, we were welcomed by the crew with these lovely cupcakes, macarons and two kinds of infused water.

Then, the new beauty collection! It was such a small part of the store and so crowded that I couldn’t really get the time to swatch the products.

Their line is beautiful though! Their eyeshadows are more pigmented than they were before and they have so much more colors now. I also loved the cream lipsticks. There were some gorgeous home accessoires in a marble print also.

I’ll visit the store again at a time that it’s less crowdy and see what they’re exactly like. Unfortunately I didn’t buy any beauty products simply because I just can’t stand such crowds anymore. I did buy a hat and the cutest black skirt ever! A post about these will follow soon.

The new beauty line is available online today! Go and get a look: click here

I did get the goodiebag though! Wanna know what’s inside? I’ll be posting pictures of the goodiebag on social media this week. Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

For now, here are my pictures:

When we eventually arrived, we saw just four of five stores and thought that was it. We’ve spent quite a lot of time in those stores. When we walked along, there is was: the real Green Street. The Green Street which really was a lot street full of South Asian stores selling clothes, sweets and jewelry.

Indian/pakistani sweets, how I love them! They’re actually extremely dangerous to me because when I start eating it, I can’t stop untill I’ve finished it al! I managed to control myself this time. There’s a famous Indian sweets store called Ambala. We both bought some sweets to take care and give to our family. They were all so happy with it! I’ve bought 3 normal boxes and 2 cute little blue tins.

For lunch we had a samosa and a pakora. The samosa was delicious and so was the sauce!

As for London Eye, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, there’s not really much to say. They’re just beautiful! Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to go into the London Eye. It was the last day of our weekend in London and a few hours later we’d fly back home. Just see for yourself how gorgeous the historical interest of London is. I love it!

FLASH TATTOOS BY FLASHIESNL !

Remember the gorgeous Beyoncé showing off these gold and silver tattoos all over her body and everyone went like: I NEED THOSE IN MY LIFE!

Well, I got them!  FlashiesNL sells the original tattoo sheets for just 7 euro’s each. I was invited for the wedding of this sweet and beautiful friend of mine and decided to flash it up a bit. I got three sheets:

With some simple black pumps and my leopard printed LK Bennet dress, my Flashies really completed my look.

I chose a golden arrow, a beautiful black feather and two of these: > > in black and gold.

They’re very easy to apply. Remember the free tattoos you got as a kid with a piece of chewing gum? Just put it on your skin, wet the tattoo with some water or a piece of wet cloth and off you go.  This works exactly the same way and it stayed on for at least five days .

Go follow FlashiesNL on Facebook to get your hands on their newest collection!
